DBK
Concepts to resell
mobile solutions
Agreement
expands availability
of iPAD, TeamPad family
in retail and grocery
industries
DALLAS
, Texas - 09/04/2002
-- Fujitsu Transaction
Solutions Inc. announced
today that it has
signed a reseller
agreement with Miami-based
DBK Concepts Inc.
that expands the availability
of Fujitsu’s mobile
solutions to more
retailers and grocers
across North America.
The
agreement, effective
immediately, broadens
Fujitsu’s indirect
sales channel and
allows DBK to resell
Fujitsu’s iPAD™ and
TeamPad™ family of
handhelds, including
the TeamPad 500 and
TeamPad 7500.
"Customer
needs are forever
changing and the requirement
for a favorable return
on investment is more
present than ever,"
said Daniel B. Katz,
chief executive officer
of DBK. "With Fujitsu’s
iPAD, we can provide
a new leading-edge
solution to address
our customers’ informational
needs and business
problems, backed by
a solid, customer-focused
industry leader with
a widely recognized
brand.
"Fujitsu’s
mobile solutions,
particularly the iPAD,
respond to what retailers
are seeking in mobile
technology. The slick-looking,
lightweight iPAD benefits
retailers with features
such as Microsoft’s
Windows CE .NET operating
system, Intel’s new
XScale processor and
voice-over-IP capability,
and it is the only
mobile device that
has a keypad with
encryption capability
so it can complete
debit transactions.
This is one unit that
really has it all."

DBK will provide additional
services to complement
iPAD and TeamPad purchases,
including professional
integration and implementation
services and software,
and development of iPAD
applications such as
line busting, order
entry, inventory and
price checking, among
others.
"Partnering
with DBK provides a
great opportunity to
make the ROI benefits
of Fujitsu's mobile
retail solutions available
to more retailers and
grocers across North
America," said Cathy
Boss-Fessel, director
of channel marketing
for Fujitsu. "DBK adds
value not only to the
products they sell,
but now to Fujitsu’s
indirect sales channel
as well."
At
11 ounces, the featherweight
iPAD combines in one
compact unit devices
used throughout the
store - scanner, magnetic-
and smart-card reader,
keypad with encryption
capabilities, even phone
capability - to give
the retailer a complete,
wireless retail appliance.
The iPAD goes anywhere
- to do virtually anything
- including inventory
management, debit transactions,
price verifications,
in-store telephony,
line busting, mobile
point of sale, gift
registry and more.
Fujitsu’s
ruggedized TeamPad handhelds
can act as a mobile
store or POS system,
integrating with the
store’s retail applications.
The 7500 series pen
tablets can serve as
thin-client devices
for mobile store applications,
portable point-of-sale
and other operations;
the Team Pad 500 is
a mobile handheld computer
used in point-of-sale/point-of-service
applications.
