| Rooms
To Go is the largest furniture company in the Southeast
United States, and the 2nd largest in America. Rooms
to Go has stores in 5 southeastern states, as well
as Texas. They truck over 2000 rooms a day from
their four state-of-the-art distribution centers
in Seffner and Lakeland, Florida, Suwanee, Georgia,
and Grand Prairie, Texas.
RTG
recently purchased 500 Fujitsu Pencentra 200 units
to put in all of their delivery trucks to run
a proof of delivery application. DBK devised a
roll out plan to meet the desired implementation
plan for RTG. DBK will also be providing any needed
warranty repair services for the units.
Rooms
To Go presented another project to DBK because
of the relationship forged through the rollout
of the Pencentra 200 units. Earlier in the year
RTG replaced their wireless network in their Lakeland
distribution center (using another company). Subsequently,
RTG began experiencing network problems such as
data loss and lack of range in certain areas of
the warehouse. An executive at RTG requested that
DBK step in to assess the problems and to see
if DBK could resolve the issues. DBK sent a team
of experts to resolve the issues as quickly as
possible.
The
team discovered that adjacent access points were
interfering with each other. The team also found
that the access point data rates and antenna modes
were configured incorrectly. Finally, the DBK
team noted that the antennas on the hand held
units were not functioning properly.
DBK
quickly resolved these issues for Rooms To Go.
Now, the Corporate Warehouse is fully functional,
has a wider data transmission range, and transmits
at a much quicker rate that was previously available.
DBK has also been asked to resolve networking
issues at two other warehouses.
